My Discovery

We’ve all been to other people’s houses sat in different rooms around the house and not felt comfortable. Is it the chair? Do I hate the color they chose to paint their walls? Is it the carpets? What is it in here that is making me feel so uncomfortable?

It was last week when I was sat in my friend’s kitchen I realized what it was that made me feel so uncomfortable. It wasn’t the color scheme (that I’m still not particularly keen on). It wasn’t the coffee they’d served me in cup straight from the dishwasher, with that funky dishwasher taste. It was the lights!

The bulb’s light was too bright and emitting off a color tip toeing on the border of whitish blue. In a word, the thing was blinding. While I drank my coffee in sips in order to increase the taste of the bean. I couldn’t help but think, does my home have these? Is my house painful to visit?   

So after finishing my funky coffee I rushed home to check to see if I’d been blinding my guests as well. It turned out I had been. I’m a monster. I’m not only guilty of affecting my guests time in my home. Most importantly, I’m guilty of affecting my own time in my home.

Research

After discovering the terrible lighting in my home I decided to do some research. From my rudimentary research I discovered there were three types of lighting. General, Task and Accent. These were required to make my home a more optimal place to live so I went to seek out a bulb that could meet all of my home’s lightning needs.

LED Dimmable Bulbs

After finding out that I needed different types of lighting for different places in my home I thought it’s probably best to buy a bulb that can do them all. And this was when I came across dimmable bulbs. In the past I had heard rumors about them buzzing and flickering, which could become even more of a nuisance than my previous problem. However, I took the risk and discovered SANSI’s LED Dimmable Bulbs.

I looked through their website and saw their 27W & 22W Dimmable Bulbs. Their white hollow body and large round heads were Star Wars-esque. They resembled a spaceship or something from the future. I’m glad to say that their unique design and ceramic white body were not just there for aesthetic reasons. Their design and structure was performance based and this became apparent immediately when they were screwed in. 

Performance

I put the 27W dimmable bulb up in my kitchen and the 22W dimmable bulb on the table in my living room as a table lamp. Initially I turned them onto full brightness and their power was obvious right away. They were super bright, super-efficient and appeared long lasting. They were ideal additions to both my kitchen and my living room due to their adaptability. Their dimming range really came in handy for all times of the day. This is because they provided the correct light for the three types of light my home needed.

Home Uses

If I’m trying to do some extra work at home or the kids are trying to do their homework in the kitchen their bright beam can make them ideal for tasks. If we’re relaxing and watching a movie in the living room their low dim can really add an ambience to the room. And I began to notice at different ranges of their dim they added different dimensions to the rooms.

Satisfied Customer

Overall, in regards to the SANSI dimmable bulbs I’ve been more than satisfied. They’ve added dimensions to my home and given us more options in regards to night and day time lighting. Most importantly they’ve provided healthy light to my family that is making our home a much happier and comfy place.

Recently, after five years of silence, a well-known open source software project MiniGUI that has been popular in embedded product development for many years once again becomes the focus of the market. MiniGUI developer FMSoft also announced the launch of the HybridOS IoT operating system project and launched the crowdfunding campaigne of HybridRun, a HybridOS’s companion development prototype on Indiegogo platform (https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/hybridrun).

Vincent Wei, general manager of FMSoft Software, explained the reasons for restarting the MiniGUI project and launching the HybridOS open source project for the operating system:

“As an open source basic software, the development of MiniGUI reached its first climax in the era of feature phones. After the large-scale promotion and application of open source and free Android, the development of MiniGUI entered a low tide. However, with the rise of the Internet of Things MiniGUI has once again gained market recognition. In 2018, Many famous chip companies such as Zhuhai Allwinner Technology CO., Ltd. and Fuzhou Rockchip Electronics Co., Ltd. actively request cooperation with FMSoft Software to support the continuous development of MiniGUI by paying license fees.

“From a market perspective, the development of IoT products has typical technical complexity, involving embedded systems, cloud, mobile clients, and even artificial intelligence. Most of the networked operating systems focus on solving the problem of the device side, but do not rethink the design of the operating system from the entire IoT application environment, and there is no more achievements in improving development efficiency and reducing development costs. I think this is a blank and an opportunity, this is why FMSoft Software deside to launch the HybridOS operating system.”

In addition to addressing development cost and efficiency issues, HybridOS is also planning to introduce blockchain technology to address the security of the Internet of Things. For this, Vincent Wei said:

“Because of the large number of virtual currency ICO scams, in the eyes of some technical experts, various virtual currency and blockchain technologies have become invisible restricted areas. This is not normal. I think blockchain technology provides a new way of thinking to solve the existing problems. In fact the internal technology is not a mysterious thing. For example, asymmetric encryption, digital signature, etc., have long been widely used in some occasions. As a technician, we should not blindly exclude blockchain technology.”

“We introduced blockchains in HybridOS, not for ICO, but to improve or solve the security problems that are common in IoT applications, such as avoiding hackers gaining private information through attacking remote cameras. The logic of we using the blockchain technology is very simple: since you can solve the virtual currency transaction problem without a centralized node, you should be able to solve the identity verification problem of the object to object communication without the centralized authentication server.”

It is reported that Vincent Wei recently published a series of articles to explain the development methods and approaches of the operating system, introduced the idea of HybridOS. These articles have caused great repercussions in the industry. For example, the well-known computer scientist Gong Li (Former President of Mozilla Foundation, General Manager of MSN China and Vice President of Microsoft China Research Institute, Dean of China Sun Engineering Research Institute, etc.) evaluated the work of the Vincent Wei and his team as following.

“Starting from the development efficiency of IoT products, HybridOS’s technical route has a high degree of rationality. However, the development of the operating system requires a lot of investment and long-term iteration. I hope that the development team can effectively integrate all resources based on the open source community so that HybridOS can be recognized by the industry as soon as possible. We look forward to the success of the team!”

Chen Yu, an associate professor of Computer Science at Tsinghua University, praised HybridOS’s design philosophy:

“Unlike other RTOS-based IoT operating systems, Vincent Wei and his team’s HybridOS are more in line with product development needs. Starting from lowering development costs and improving development efficiency, HybridOS is more likely to be recognized by developers.”

Sun Yanbang, Smart Home Division R&D Director of Zhuhai Allwinner Technology CO., Ltd., also has high hopes for HybridOS:

“Internet of Things products are characterized by diversification and fragmentation. Chip design companies face a wide range of choices and a large number of repetitive developments when providing product reference design platforms, which affects customer product development efficiency.

HybridOS integrates various open source technologies well, and has its own features and highlights, forming a complete software system that can significantly reduce the amount of repetitive investment in IoT chips and product development.”

In any case, developing a completely new operating system is a very difficult thing, which is basically impossible for a small team. Therefore, it is the only way for HybridOS to use the open source community to make use of the resources of all parties to develop together. In this regard, Vincent Wei mentioned:

“With this development of HybridOS, I hope that we can work together with more companies that agree with this idea to create this operating system in a market-oriented way. FMSoft can not and does not intend to eat the entire market. I hope that companies that are really willing to invest resources (finance and manpower) will do it together, and everyone will earn their own money. For example, cloud computing vendors, who are willing to invest in the Internet of Things cloud services can join in. Chip companies, who are willing to invest in BSPs, also can join in too. If we can iterate and implement this operating system step by step according to our ideas, it will have a profound impact on China’s basic software, and even the entire global infrastructure software industry. To this end, HybridOS will remain open source and will strive to grow globally.”

Vincent Wei finally mentioned: Twenty years ago, I created MiniGUI, an open source software project. As an important basic software, MiniGUI is widely used in embedded devices and IoT devices. MiniGUI is my first half of my career, and HybridOS will be my second half of my career: an open source, Linux-based, new operating system for the Internet of Things.”

HybridOS will succeed or not, we will wait and see.

This event is officially opened on August 18th and will last for 8 days, with 48 competitions in total. A total of 18 domestic teams will participate in the contest, some of which are from top-echelon football clubs listed in Chinese Football Association Super League and Chinese Football Association China League, such as Luneng Taishan F.C.,Shanghai Greenland Shenhua F.C., Tianjin Teda F.C., Changchun Yatai F.C, Chongqing Dangdailifan F.C. Patrick de Potter, CEO of EVA.IO, announces to launch an electric vehicle platform. This decentralized platform will have an all new EVA token to run its eco-system.

Vincent Wei, general manager of FMSoft Software, explained the reasons for restarting the MiniGUI project and launching the HybridOS open source project for the operating system:

“As an open source basic software, the development of MiniGUI reached its first climax in the era of feature phones. After the large-scale promotion and application of open source and free Android, the development of MiniGUI entered a low tide. However, with the rise of the Internet of Things MiniGUI has once again gained market recognition. Vincent Wei finally mentioned: Twenty years ago, I created MiniGUI, an open source software project. As an important basic software, MiniGUI is widely used in embedded devices and IoT devices. MiniGUI is my first half of my career, and HybridOS will be my second half of my career: an open source, Linux-based, new operating system for the Internet of Things.”

40 years ago, China launched the great reform and opening up so that China’s economy rose rapidly and greatly promoted the world economy’s growth, which affected the process of economic globalization. It is reported that we will also be pleasantly surprised to see another major event at the site of the Summit — Selection of “Top 100 of 2018 Xi’an’s Future Star” during the boom of innovation and entrepreneurship throughout the city. According to reports, the selected enterprises in this selection will be included in the “Longmen Action” plan for key training, so that one brand with commercial legends after another will be born in Xi’an!

Gao Gao, Member of the Standing Committee of Xi’an Municipal Committee of the CPC, Vice Mayor of Xi’an municipality, introduced the general situation of the Summit. The Summit will organize activities such as “experts’ talkfest, special training, theme forum, project docking, and exhibition” to promote the integration of industry and capital as well as to gather global capital to share China’s opportunities.  The Summit will also call on 100 domestic first-line investment organizations to found the “Global Silkroad Venture Capital Alliance” so as to promote the innovative development of China’s venture capital industry.

Wang Li, deputy director of Financial Office of Xi’an Municipal People’s Government, Yang Hua, deputy director of Administration Committee of Xi’an Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone, and Zhang Yanyan, managing partner of Zero2IPO Group, together answered questions that media reporters concern.

Xi’an will accelerate the pace of national central city construction in an all-round way, enhance its support to the national economy, and lead the urban agglomerations at the Central Shanxi Plain to become the mainstay of cities with the capacity of global resource allocation and international competitiveness. Xi’an will also become a charming and high-powered “China’s venture capital city” with more openness as well as inclusiveness.

Beijing, China – on August 15, 2018, “2018 World Robot Conference (WRC)” held grand opening ceremony in Beijing Yichuang International Exhibition & Convention Center.

From August 19th to August 21st, the 2018 Lingtai International Symposium on Inheritance of the Academic Thoughts of THE CANON OF ACUPUNCTURE AND MOXIBUSTION and Huangfu Mi Culture Festival is solemnly held in Huangfu Mi’s hometown, Lingtai County of Gansu Province.
