China Britain International Design Week (CBIDW) promotes “From Made in China” to “Created in China” initiative through a strong, effective relationship with the UK. CBIDW aims to be one of the highest profile design events and an international creative influencer to promote Chinese designs, innovations and technologies, increase mutual prosperity, and support Chinese creativity on the world stage.
CBIDW is a new annual international event – an exciting platform, which allows designers and engineers from around the world to build on their mutual strengths, to devise creative and innovative solutions for better designs, products and services. This international event will bring together the best of the East and the West.
In collaboration with British and Chinese governments, institutions and companies, CBIDW also aims to provide high quality B to B services for Chinese companies in the UK. The launch event on 3 October, comprising both exhibition and conferences, will provide a unique platform to strengthen ties between individuals, organisations and governments in a variety of sectors including smart cities, low carbon cities, architecture, built environment, transportation and industrial design.
The CBIDW objective is to further promote pragmatic exchanges and cooperation between the creative industries from both countries. The theme of CBIDW 2016 is “Designing toward a Smart Future”. Developing smart cities brings many opportunities for business, innovation and skills. Transforming “Cities” to “Smart Cities” is a key challenging for both Chinese and British enterprises urgently in need of close collaboration. What are the driver of innovation and deployment of smart solutions in smart city management? What are the potentials for smart technology to entre the creative industry market?
CBIDW is the first in the UK to explore the impact of economic expansion on Designs in China. It will represent to UK and International audiences the astonishing vitality of China’s Twenty-First Century Design Culture.
