On 8 September 2017, Singapore operator StarHub unveiled two new mobile prepaid SIM Card called StarHub WeChat Go SIM in partnership with WeChat of Tencent. Lingcod TV, as a partner, provides the exclusive overseas Chinese video service.
“StarHub WeChat Go SIM” is an official 4G-LTE mobile prepaid SIM Card, it is designed to meet the mobile needs of a growing number of Chinese travelers in Singapore and around the regions. It is valid in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong, New Zealand and other countries. Figures from the Singapore Tourism Board show that China travelers arrival in 2016 increased 36 percent from the year before, and according to a 2017 Hotels.com survey, Singapore is the top Asia Pacific city that Chinese travelers want to visit in the next 12 months.
“StarHub WeChat Go SIM” provides 2 packages for users to choose: 7 days and 12 days. The unlimited data for WeChat use are provided as well. 7 days package includes 7GB 4G local data for use in Singapore, 1GB roaming data, 500mins Singapore local calls and 60mins IDD calls to China from Singapore; 12 days package includes 15GB 4G local data for use in Singapore, 2.4GB roaming data, 3000mins Singapore local calls and 150mins IDD calls to China from Singapore. In addition, bundle usage and balance checkup as well as top up is available via “StarHub微信乐游卡” WeChat Mini Program.

Starting 11 September 2017, Chinese travelers can purchase StarHub WeChat Go SIM through popular online travel agencies, namely Jingdong, Taobao, Mafengwo, Tongcheng Tourism and Qyer. Upon touching down at Changi Airport, they can easily activate the SIM at any of the 15 UOB Currency Exchange Counters. StarHub WeChat Go SIM will also be made available locally at StarHub Shops and 7-11 stores.
