In January 2018, Lin participated in a Chinese reality idol survival show named Idol Producer. He ranked fifth in the final episode (with a total of 12,131,367 votes) in Idol Producer and joined Nine Percent for official debut on April 6th. The group made its first concet in Shanghai on May 5. From May to July, 17 concerts were held in 10 cities of China. Their first album was set to be released in September or October this year.
