Sep 6, 2018 – Representatives for Sam Hawkell at a press meet discussed being an Ole Miss Alum and producing the telesion movie Dolly Parton’s Christmas of Many Colors.
Sam Haskwell worked his way out of the mailroom to become a Worldwide head of TV. When he heard about the movie being nominated, he shared how thankful he was.
“Dolly and I are thrilled by the success of this movie and it being nominated for for an Emmy. When I called Dolly back then with the news, we both screamed and cried a little.”
Haskell said “The story of NBC/Warner Brothers Movie is taken from an incredible time in Dolly’s lifetime during Christmas of 1955. The movie is all about being touched with hope, faith, forgiveness and of course love. Which is what need.”
Sam Haskell, was former Miss America president, former Executive Vice President and Worldwide Head of Television for the venerable William Morris Agency, who, at age 52, was named in 2007 by TV Week as one of the 25 Most Innovative and Influential People in Television over the last quarter century, has authored the autobiographical memoir with life lessons, “Promises I Made My Mother.”
