No wonder people from outside this region has safety concerns, after these incidents had been worldly reported by media.  

From August 30 to September 6, 2018, I went to Urumqi with my friend’s company to attend the annual “China-Asia-Europe Exposition” with the idea of seeing the real Xinjiang by myself. During this period, I visited Urumqi and Turpan as a tourist and spent two days visiting the famous historical cities in southern Xinjiang. Kashi. During the sightseeing, I met friendly people and fine view. In addition to tourist attraction, We got to walk down the back alleys of Urumqi, check out local food in night market. We got to see facets of Xinjiang, the Uyghur culture that rarely show on the main streets of the capital. What i really love is when the night market comes alive, people of all ages just coming out to enjoy the cooler weather. And that’s where we got to know how people of this region really feel. They said Xinjiang is absolutely safe place in nowadays. This sense of security not only comes from security measures, it also comes from favor policies on education, health care, urban community and the development of economy.

Local people are positive about the current situation in Xinjiang, and they just want a safe and stable life. Nowadays, most local people study Mandarin (because they are located in remote and backward areas with low educational level, only know their own local language but do not understand the national language, so it is very difficult to obtain employment and social contacts), learn law and learning vocational skills, and use the Mandarin and vocational skills learned in transformation education to find jobs, support their families. I have learned that during the period of study, all the food, accommodation, medical treatment and training are paid by the government. Definitely, because of the violent incidents happened years ago, a few people are temporarily under restriction and are taught to study, in order to return to society gradually, which has protected the safety and the right to subsistence of the majority of the people. There has been none other incident of this nature in the past two years, and the sense of security and well-being of the general public has been rising. This should be recognized and recognized by the international community.

It strikes me that I had a worthwhile trip for having a clear picture of Xinjiang.

As Tech giants Google and Facebook seek to return in China, fast-growing startup Bytedance now aims to tap another market where foreign competitors are missing: streaming videos.

With starring products like short-video sharing App Tik Tok/Douyin, news aggregator Toutiao, and newly launched AI research center, Bytedance is now entitled “the King of Content in China” and “the one that knows the best about Chinese Millennials” with a majority of the users aging from 15-35. The company is especially famous for spotting market segments with the least competition.

Since 2017, Bytedance initiated a series of mergers and acquisitions to align its grander ambition. Besides launching offices across the world and aggressively acquiring competitors, the company also expanded its business lines including mini-programs and mobile games to directly combat Tencent.

Rise of Douyin: Missing BAT in Photo & Video Category

Douyin is no doubt one of the most successful products of Bytedance as world’s most downloaded App in 2018 Q1 with 150 million DAU. The success of Douyin provided Bytedance the resources to go deeper and further in the Photo and Video category. At the beginning of 2018, Bytedance acquired Faceu, the second products of China’s popular emoji company Lianmeng, with $300 million. Since 2018 Q1, Douyin has become the leading App in this category with 41,479,865 total downloads, according to AppBi.

Tik Tok/Douyin’s Dominance: Industry’s Anxiety

Meitu’s fall went simultaneously with Douyin’s growth. While one represents artificial beauty, the other gains a reputation of revealing reality. Since 2016, downloads of short-video sharing Apps proliferated whereas the growth of photo editing platforms slowed down. Some smaller developers even vanished after only one or two years in the market.

From 2014-2017, Meitu Technology remains the top publisher with the most Apps listed in Top 500 lists. However, very few were able to stand out like Douyin or Kuaishou. Many lasted only a few years and then vanished with very little loyal users.

At the same time, BAT performed poorly in this category compared to smaller companies like Meitu and Fotoable who stood out as the publishers with the most Apps listed in Top 500. Bytedance rose to become the star in 2018, but it was considered almost invisible in this category before 2016.

Compared to other categories, the change of players in Photo & Video is swift and unpredictable. Not only larger players like Bytedance, Kuaishou, but many smaller startups were able to shine for a while with strong support from teenagers, who seek “new and cool” Apps that could connect them with their peers.

In 2018 Q1 and Q2, this category experienced the fall of photo Apps and saw a rise of short-video sharing Apps. Kuaishou remains the most profiting one whereas Douyin dominates the download ranking. More independent, smaller players entered the market, but BAT still plays a minor role in this category.

The rise of Douyin and unpredictability caused major anxiety in this industry. Previous top players like Meitu Technology began to invest heavily in new product development. While the change of players happens almost every quarter in this category, we could hardly predict any long-term players due to the nature and user base of these Apps.

The dilemma of short-video sharing and Bytedance

After the peak in 2017 and the beginning of 2018, the download of Douyin begins to slow down as policy tightened in Beijing. Besides being criticized for vulgar contents, user-heavy platforms like Douyin and Kuaishou also scrutinized for data security and inappropriate ads.

The Grand Finale of Mrs India – Pride of Nation 2018 had three rounds where the 90 contestants wore designer ensembles – Wedding Bells Rent & Attire by Srishti Arora Anand and B Panache by Shikha Bhatia.

Conceptualized by Barkha Nangia, Director – Glamour Gurgaon, the pageant is the essence of womanhood in the modern world. The pageant not only showcase the beauty and talent of these passionate married women, but also strives to empower them to be better contributors to the society. The second edition of Mrs.India – Pride of Nation focused on Breast Cancer Awareness and this year they have done more than 10,000 awareness campaigns. The mission of finding the Mrs. India-Pride of Nation 2018 started by city auditions across India, where more than 3000 women contestants were screened. The shortlisted 90 contestants went through a strenuous auditions and training sessions to win this prestigious title.

Glamour Gurgaon has organized many beauty pageants so far, including the Mrs Punjab – Pride of Nation and Mrs Delhi-NCR. This pageant is the grandest of all with multi-city contestants, renowned fashion designers, image consultants and celebrities on the jury panel, in-depth training, photo shoots and makeup sessions all goes into preparing to find that one woman who deserves to be crowned as Mrs. India – Pride of Nation.

Biral has been an educator from the last 15+ years and lives in Vadodara, Gujarat she has been teaching in one of the esteemed CBSE schools Navrachana Sama for the last 8 years. This year Biral decided to take a break from her job and a new opportunity came her way Mrs India – Pride of Nation. Auditions were carried out in various cities throughout India. The Auditions took place for Gujarat state in Ahmedabad on the 29th of July 2018 and more then 500+ participants were shortlisted and came for the audition from various cities of Gujarat. 

After a Couple of days 90 candidates were shortlisted out of which Biral was selected with another 5 women from Gujarat. They were given various tasks and the main task was to create breast cancer awareness among women. On September 10th, 2018 Biral took her flight to New Delhi to start her training and grooming session for the prestigious title they had rigorous training throughout the 5 days and various talent rounds. Every morning 7:00 Am she had to wake up for the training & grooming session which lasted till around midnight or even later. It was a very tough competition for all 90 contestants who had been shortlisted from the entire country. 

The finale day 15th September 2018 The Leela Ambience Gurgaon 90 Contestants went through 3 rounds and 7 contestants were selected as the finalists out of which one was Biral. The last round for the finale was the question and answer round in which she was asked a question – Imagine India in which arrange marriages were banned, what positive effects would that have in our society? She gave a mind-blowing answer to the question were the judges were impressed and the audience clapped and cheered for such a beautiful answer.
